North Central Zone Cultural Centre (NCZCC), Allahabad is celebrating 150th Birth Anniversary Commemoration of Tagore showing all seven participating states in three segments:
Sri Salim Arif, has planned a composite presentation on Tagore for two hours, which will have recital of Tagore poems by Shri Ashok Chakradhar & Shri Gulzar. It will also have dramatisation of Tagore’s famous stories and plays in pieces which include Tagore’s famous works like Chandalika, Kabuliwala, Postmaster, Geetanjali. These shows will be prepared at NCZCC Headquarter Allahabad and the first show will be at Allahabad. Later programmes will be held in Delhi, Jaipur, Patna, Bhopal and Dehradun. The last show in first stage will be at Kurukshetra.
The second part will be held in rural areas which will be at District/sub Divisional level with a limited number of artistes. The same show will be sent with less number of artistes participation.
Poems of Gurudev
Kavi Gosthi and Kavi Sammellan will be organised at various places like Varanasi, Kanpur, Sagar, Gwalior, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Rohtak, Nanital Gurgaon to recite poems of Gurudev properly translated in local language – under special direction of subject experts.
During the show, Gurudev’s famous replicas/copies of Gurudev’s painting will be displayed.
NCZCC will also organise programmes on Tagore on the basis of requests received from Ministries/Govt. Departments and NGOs where large number of audience is expected. It will also tie up with schools, colleges, IITs, Universities to have such shows based on Gurudev’s work. The script of this Tagore show named “Geetanjali” being prepared by NCZCC with the help of Prof. Ashim Mukherjee, Professor & Head of Allahabad University who is an expert on Tagore plays and is a theater personality.
