A committee of experts has been constituted by Ministry of HRD to evaluate National and Overseas proposals received by the Government for setting up educational institutes based on Tagore’s teachings, as part of Commemoration of 150th Birth Anniversary of the poet.

IIAS Shimla

Centre for Tagore Studies at the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies (IIAS), Shimla has been set up with the objective to encourage qualitative and comparative study of Tagore’s works by poets, artistes and writers in India and the world. The centre will also support translation of Tagore’s works into other Indian languages, advance a study of the elements of his philosophy and explore the relationship between science and society from Tagore's view point.
